Viking: Battle for Asgard is an exciting hack and slash adventure with a slight bit of Norse mythology thrown in. One part of the game that stood out in my mind was the huge battles that you can take part in. from Amazon.com this game is all about skarin who is,as you may have guessed,a viking.hes a big freaking viking who goes around brutalizing everything.he is a bit of a punk early on getting hacked up by goblin hoardes and what not.but,before long,skarin is raping and pillaging.his kill moves are quite grotesque.there is A LOT of blood and general gore.skarin does not move around as well as i would like,but he is under control for the most part.eventualy he raises massive armies to engage the bad guys in epic battles.so,if you are proud of your norse blood,liked d an d or lord of the rings type stuff or just want to relax by disembowling small communities then this the game for you! from Amazon.com Here's my run down of pros and cons: + open world environment to explore + a few stealth missions for added variety + nice graphics from Amazon.com I didn't care the story was shallow. I didn't care that the majority of the gameplay is "go to and clear out the Legion" - it was a blast. Hacking one enemy was enjoyable - taking on 5 or 10 at a time was great and literally wading through the vast sea of Legion during the epic siege battles was over-the-top fun. Kudos for such massive battles and keeping the frame rate solid !! from Amazon.com So far I've played this game 3 times, and found it very enjoyable each time through. To really get a feel for how this game plays, you have to understand the kind of game it is--it's basically a one person hack-and-slay, where you are a viking warrior tromping your way through three big islands. On the way you can add some combat moves and add magic to your sword with runes, but other than that it's pretty simple. from Amazon.com 1: yes you have to walk around alot, but what open end game don't you walk around in? Assasins creed, Grand theft auto, etc. The graphics are great so hey enjoy the scenery for a bit. But yes i get mad at times becuase you wish your character could pick up the pace a little. from Amazon.com Mi hermano me presto este Juego, habiendo terminado Conan no tenia ganas de jugar un juego similar, sin embargo poco a poco me fui emocionando con las misiones y las hermosas graficas, (por alli un review lo menciono, creanme los efectos del Agua en este Juego son inigualables) , la forma en que puedes divisar a lo lejos otros castillos o Ruinas es increible, este es un juego donde te hacen sentir que estas realmente en un mundo Real...puedes caminar (si quieres) de un pueblo a otro y en ningun momento hay pausas para leer el Disco, eso por si es Fascinante; coincido con personas aqui que el modo Stealth (Azecho) es muy difcil, esas misiones realmente son desesperantes y frustantes, digamos que es lo peor del juego y la razon de deducirle en mi Review una estrella, por lo demas, creo que es un juego muy compacto, es divertido,emocionante,buenas graficas increibles combates epicos!! algunos parece ser que lo odian pues critican lo repetitivo que se vuelve a veces, pero creanme que yo disfrute esos momentos tambien, cuando caminas en los riachuelos o en los bosques...sumamente impresionante, es realmente triste ver que los Websites mas famosos calificaron de mediocre a malo este juego, para los creadores (SEGA)ha de haber sido muy destructivo despues de que invirtieron meses y meses para tratar de hacer algo diferente,supongo que por las ventas no habra Vikings 2...es una lastima pues corrijiendo alguno que otro error este juego se pudo haber convertido en una Franquicia grandiosa..... from Amazon.com This is up there with Too Human. It is worthless. THe story line is ok but for so many enimies I would think you should be able to carre more then 3 health potions. Yes, that right you fight hordes of orcs and you only get 3 health potions. from Amazon.com However, this is a lie, and it took me (a skilled gamer) over 25 hours to complete. The graphics are easily among the best on the console (just look at the in-game screenshots that are provided by Amazon [found below the boxart on the first page]). the game does have a very simple story (that is presented more to justify the action), but this doesn't really distract from the game's overall immaculate quality, because the real treat in Viking is in its incredible swordplay and massive battles.
