DO NOT BUYspend the extra 10 bucks on something that will last and work Other Thoughts: I didn't even buy this product from newegg i bought it from another site who were building my PC... If I didn't buy it from newegg but came to newegg to protest the purchase of this product than it must mean it is aweful... I'm leaving right now to go buy another wireless card so PLEASE save your money and buy ONE card not two, which you will do if you purchase this product from Newegg.com Other Thoughts: I still love newegg and will be a customer. Just because I give a bad review, doesn't mean I will stop buying. Its my review and what experiences I have had with this card, doesn't mean not to try it out. It may work for others and may not. from Newegg.com Once it loaded the drivers, bada bing! It's been going fine ever since. Cons: None Other Thoughts: At first, my computer wouldn't load the driver, even though it recognized the card. Had to re-seat the card in the PCI slot, then all was good, and Vista loaded the driver from the disk. from Newegg.com I have tried most of the brands, even Atheros Chip Sets, and They have all quit working within a year. This is the longest lasting adapter I have ever owned. I have never had trouble with an Gigabyte Product. It was installed into my older Athlon 3400+ computer. from Newegg.com Pros: This card has decent range, and picks up better than my wife's laptop wifi card. It is stable, and doesn't drop connection. from Newegg.com Pros: Great price; flawlessly installed in Vista 64-bit, and it is solidly constructed. The computer recognized this card immediately and had drivers installed before I could open the CD envelope. Although the GUI works only in Windows (maybe also Mac, I wouldn't know), the card's parameters can be set using iwconfig commands (see below). However, this card is slow and weak and does not seem to transmit well through walls. from Newegg.com But --see Cons! Cons: Can't get much of a consistent signal only 20 yards away here in the house. A 20 mMbps interned connection only comes up with about 6 Mbps in this card. Latency errors are large. from Newegg.com
