I install this product yesterday and had an issue with the CD driver that came in the box. I went out to Zonet website and download the latest driver for XP and everything worked from there. Im getting great reception to my AP's and also see a few more that my Dlink card did not. from Tigerdirect.com But this card is sweet. The wireless router is a Westell Versalink, and it had no problems talking to the card from the get-go. Going by my provider's tech-support advice, I didn't use the Zonet's installation procedure. Instead, I put the Zonet CD in, but then clicked Exit on the CD welcome screen, and stuck the card in and just followed the Windows XP ''Found New Hardware'' wizard. from Tigerdirect.com Pros: Solid, fast connections; installed on the first try with no problems; great price Cons: Had a little trouble at first connecting to my wireless network with the SSID not broadcast. Easy workaround was to broadcast the SSID temporarily, and then turn it off once the profile was in Zonet's software. Other Thoughts: I think it can be configured with a non-broadcast SSID, but it wasn't readily apparent how. from Newegg.com Get great signal strength when the power settings are turned up and no connection problems. Cons: The drivers for the card (old and new) would randomly cause my laptop to crash with a blue screen indicating that one of the main drivers for this card was causing it. Further, there is an open-source project which, with the full cooperation of Zonet, has Linux/Unix drivers for the rt2500 chipset, on which this card is based (these drivers can be compiled as modules, and installed for use with the Linux kernel, both 2.4- and 2.6-series). from Newegg.com thanks tiger, and to the rest of you, if you don't want to have to work on computers always buy quality components. from Tigerdirect.com also cause other problems on this computer. from Newegg.com For what it is, this PC Card Ethernet adapter does the trick. In my case it was installed in a friend's aging laptop that is running Windows XP. from Amazon.com I've always used 802.11b cards for internet access but gradually found myself copying larger and larger file between my desktop and laptop which was taking forever.
