I bought this usb wifi device because it said that it worked with Win98se. The drivers it shipped with did not work with Win98se even though they said it would. I went on line and found older drivers that work fine so I am not unhappy but if I had not found those older drivers I would not be happy but quite mad. from Amazon.com Pros: Just worked. Connected my Dell D830 laptop running Gentoo Linux to my WPA2-secured network in under 5 minutes. Would have been less, but it took me a minute or two to realize I had setup MAC filtering on my router. from Newegg.com I bought this to make my iBook G3 wireless instead of buying an expensive airport card. It works great. from Amazon.com Pros: I bought this 2+ yrs. ago when I was trying to set up a wireless LAN under some version of Fedora (not sure which). I could not get the ASUS WL-167G to work under Fedora at that time, so it went into a drawer. Last month, after some 10 yrs. from Newegg.com Cons: New version doesn't work in FreeBSD. Other Thoughts: There are two versions of this adapter, with the same case, same model number, but different chips. I really hate that; Asus should call it the WL-168g or something. The early one works in FreeBSD flawlessly. from Newegg.com Pros: Great solution for an old eMac G4/700 (running OS X 10.4.11) that required an internet connection.
