I bought this on price figuring that WiFi cards should be a commodity item these days. After a few days I did get it working consistently, but I had the same experience as another reviewer who said it had trouble picking up a signal where his laptop worked fine. Here is some more detail and what worked for me in setting it up. from Buy.com Using this in a 5 year-old Dell running Windows 2K. Installation was smooth, and reception is very good. My router is a standard Linksys 802.11g unit in a basement, and the computer with this card is on the second floor. I don't get 54Mbs, but I get 20 or 30Mbs, which is faster than my broadband internet connection - so I'm happy. from Buy.com I could not get this to work. My PC would not boot. Trendware site states it will not work with PCI Ver 2.1 slots. That's my problem! from Tigerdirect.com Pros: Relatively cheap. Comparable range. Cons: 9 months ago I purchased a TRENDnet TEW-452BRP wireless router and this PCI card.
