Bought this and the router to hook up my laptops to my network. Setup was about as easy as you can get... from Amazon.com Got it working with very little effort and it connects much better than my previous solution. from Amazon.com It installed effortlessly. (It is important to install the software from the included CD first.) I tried it with my old router, a Linksys WRT54G, and saw modest improvement in the number of dropped packets (tested using the DOS "ping" command). When I added the matching Buffalo router (AirStation Wireless G High Power), the improvement was dramatic. Another advantage of this card is the jack for an external antenna. from Amazon.com I bought this card to complement the Buffalo HP router and it works great. The speed is great, streaming video is better NO LAG, even my wife notices that it's faster surfing with the new router and card. from Amazon.com I have never really heard of Buffalo, however my Cisco teacher has, so I took a chance and bought one. I did have a cheap Motorola WAP and a Trendnet PCMCIA card. from Amazon.com This card is great- fast, cheap and easy to install. I am really impressed. I also bought the Buffalo WHR-HP-G54 Wireless-G MIMO Performance Router and Access Point. WOW! from Amazon.com don't know why) Con: The client manager software that comes with it is pretty lame, but you don't have to use it. Windows' wireless networking works just as well. The external antenna connector and higher power ability were the main reasons I bought this card. from Amazon.com sure it gives you better signal strength but it doesnt detect all network connections. DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM from Amazon.com The Buffalo WIFI adapter outperforms and much easier to install and use than some of the "namebrands" which I previously tried. from Amazon.com This card is amazing. By using this card instead of a Cisco, Proxim, or my built-in Atheros chipset, I can get nearly twice the data rate and this is when using a standard 802.11g access point (Linksys WAP54G). Definitely the best wireless client card that I've come across for my network and I've also tested it in a dozen or so other environments while writing the Official Study Guide for the Wireless# certification from McGraw-Hill. Buy it here and return it if I'm wrong, but you won't be sending this one back. from Amazon.com
