But we have suffered that the router denied to assign IP address from our DHCP server. I found that only a few routers have a function to let it use as pure access point. So, I swapped the D-Link wireless N router with this Easy-N-Upgrader. This product is actually an Access Point. from Amazon.com Got this to upgrade my HughesNet Modem. I didn't have a switch so I was afraid when I unpacked the AP that I wouldn't be able to configure it since it only has one Lan-Port which it needs to get an IP-Address. BUT a standard wireless was turned on by default so I had no problem configuring the TRENDnet AP to work with my HughesNet Hardware. from Amazon.com Having reconfigured my Belkin Wireless G Router and Access Point for the seemingly last time due to dropouts/miscommunication, I began an extensive search into alternatives and/or possible means of upgrading my network. With the original firmwares (1.02 and 1.1.something) on the two units, I couldn't get it working. I just used one of them as a basic AP, and that worked fine. Today, I noticed that Trendnet has a new firmware (1.2.0.26) up on their site that let me finally get it working. from Newegg.com Pros: Easy installation and set up. But I paid the extra money for 802.11N because I needed to reach the other end of the house (the router is at one end.)
