the only thing keeping it from a fifth star is that i think $30 is a little high for a game with limited replay value.

i think it doesn't hurt the experience necessarily, but it would have been really nice.
i enjoy the differences in gameplay at night time, as well as the change of scenery when the sun sets.

overall this is a cute little game that will give you hours of fun if you aren't looking for an experience similar to the pc versions.

ddr hottest party for wii is my first ddr experience (mostly because the wii is the first game console i've owned since intellevision!).
if this is your first ddr experience i suggest playing on an easier difficulty (maybe without the hand movements) until you get better so you don't get overwhelmed.
