I'm not a hard-core gamer. I just want a game that I can play and have fun with. M&S at the Olympics is it. There are enough events to keep you from getting bored.
Sonic couldn't really beat Mario at anything, except a race, but that's beside the point. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games is a fun game thought up by Nintendo and Sega.
I bought this for my 8 year old son - a Mario/Sonic addict - and it is really fun. You can play many different sports - most of them revlve around running, but then so do the Olympics - and all of them appeal to one of our family members or the other.
When i got this game i got it because i love mario and sports but i dont like sonic. So i thought that i could be the mario series and i would beat the sonic series.
The basic premise of the game is that you select a character to compete against either other people or AI characters in various Olympic events. You have your choice of 8 classic Mario characters, 8 Sonic characters, or anyone from your Mii Village.
We are a two adult, two child household (ages 10 and 6), and all of us love Mario and Sonic at the Olympics. It's challenging enough for my husband and I to play, but easy enough that our kids enjoy it as well.
This game could have been made way better. Im consistantly switching from the wii remote to the nunchuck and back and forth. A few of the games take time to get use to how to do them.
Favorite characters unite!! Mikie has always loved Sonic and Geoff Mario, so any games teaming these two Favorites up looked like a needed investigation - Boy, are the boys glad too!! Our favorite little blue furry dude ROCKS in this adventure with Red and mustachioed, as they hustle through various sports.
after reading everyone's review, we purchased this game for our almost-5-year-old (4 and 3/4). he's not the biggest kid, but loves both mario and sonic and begged for this game.
