Summary: This is about the nicest wireless camera under $300 on the market. I tried the Linksys cam, but the picture quality is very poor unless there is tons of light. Axis also provides nice software for multi-camera management. Once I got it running (one more trial than error) it has been great good picture and stable operation. Through the Axis network, I have been able to get on to it from anywhere in the country. The sound feature has not been very usefulit either does not work or is too choppy to understand when it does work (one of these days I will get back to that). from Buy.com The first page of the manual warns against direct exposure of the sensors to sunlight. Since the window faces east and would get direct sun hits in the morning, this cam was not suitable for the application. I ended up using this for another application and purchased the axis 221 instead (IT has auto-iris and ifrared). The setup on this cam is easy if you are network saavy, I did not even use the axis software to set it up (of course you need to use a wired connection for initial setup). from Buy.com See cons for what happened. Cons: First camera (latest firmware) stopped responding during the configuration of it. Call to Axis confirmed it was dead, could not access it or reset it. Replaced by Newegg (who was great to deal with in this matter). from Newegg.com I have several of these Camera's setup and have used other cheaper wirless camera's. It is worth the extra money to go with a quality camera which doesn't lockup and continues to operate. I am very satisfied with Axis, I only with there security software would run on a mac. I recently went to upgrade the firmware and the firmware update bricked the camera. from Amazon.com I purchased my 207W in Sept 2006, and I have used it for webcasting two parties so far with no problems. I have been using one or two Axis 2100 series network IP webcams for my parties for years, always frustrated the 2100s would not be viewable in Safari, and the admin interface was a bit clunky, especially having to enable event settings. The 207W has a better admin interface but it takes some getting used to finding where the settings have moved in the menus. from Amazon.com
