Pros I am very pleased with the Axis 214 PTZ and the transaction with PCNation. Set-up was easy, the quality of picture and the zooms are excellent. from Pcnation.com Pros: - 18x optical allows me to pull the license plate off a car at 100 feet away from the camera.- Great build quality- 0.005 Lux sensitivity (night mode)-Three ways to control the ptz functions: joystick emulation, cross-hair, and the typical left, right, up, down, zoom buttons.-Quick and quiet ptz functions.-Great looking and quick web UI.-Not a single reset required since I put them up 4 months ago.-Guard modes, timed preset positions, alarms, input and output switches, and a whole host of other stuff I never use. Thus, if you are trying to record license plates, try to situate the camera so that vehicles will be driving directly towards it -- this should minimized the apparent movement.
