Not very dependable at all. I bought it 6 months ago with Firmware 1.07. My other DCS-6620g works fine...both running wireless connections. Once I update it with Firmware 1.08 (released 5/5/2009) I will revise my review. from Amazon.com Both the camera and the software are poor. It is obvious that they have not been tested well before release. DLink D-ViewCam does not always autodetect the camera on the network. You can only access the camera using Internet Explorer. from Amazon.com I got this camera 3 months back and had it running continuously. It worked for a short time then when I went to relocate it to where I really wanted it it didnt work anymore. D-Link customer service was OK. They run for weeks until they need to be resetted (one of them is a wireless and that one crashes way too often). For the price, these cameras get the job done. You need a basic understanding of networking in order to take advantage of all the features. from Amazon.com It is not firefox compatible, but I just use IE for webcam monitoring my pet and firefox for browsing. Firefox > explorer... The webcam range hits throughout my home except down 2 floors in the basement level which has a delay or so every 5 minutes, but besides that I get a good 30 frames per second constant which is very decent. Setting encryption compfused me at first so just to get wireless working I disabled that part, but didn't enable SSID broadcast. from Amazon.com
