This is a good, serviceable camera with decent quality images -- much better than the Logitech QuickCam Chat, which I also purchased. I am returning the QuickCam Chat and keeping the Quickcam for Notebooks for my son.
I wanted a web cam since I can leaving home for school. I just wanted something simple and easy to use.
I also have the more than twice as expensive QuickCam Pro. The QuickCam for Notebooks is just as good.
I love everything about the Logitech QuickCam for Notebooks, except for the sound quality. It sounds really staticy.
I use this web camera with Dell Inspiron E1505 notebook. The quality of the picture is not the best, but it does its job: you can tell the features and shapes of the familiar things and people on the other side of the line.
My Logitech Quickcam is great. It was easy to install and it's easy to use.
This camera has a very bad picture, no matter how you adjust it, the picture is not clear. Ended up purchasing another Logitech quickcam that was more expensive, much better quality.
I paid close to $40.00 for this cam and found the picture video quality to be absolutely lousy. I have another logitech cam 9000 and they don't even compare.
Summary:This camera is a wonderful product, taking great quality pics and video. The picture is clear as a bell and setup was painless. We wanted them so while I was in AZ for 5 weeks training for new job, our kids would be able to see her each night, using the included Yahoo video messenger program. I liked the design so much, we purchased a second one for our home computer, even though it is not a notebook.
This cam is fine for the price; you get clear pictures; fairly easy to clip to a notebook.
