I thought I would give it a shot anyway. Should of listened to the reviews. Got it on the 11th of April, Worked with Linksys to try and correct some problems on the 12th. They informed me the camera was bad. from Tigerdirect.com I have installed other IP cams ranging from $250 up to 1200. With the higher end IP's, you have to buy recording software. Linksys includes it! Big bonus! from Tigerdirect.com I had the earlier version of the linksys video camera, the one that had a fixed lens. That one you could never get to work wirelessly period. from Amazon.com Does NOT support passwords longer than 8 characters. Motion capture has a max record time of 5 seconds and there is a delay between the email's it sends of a min of 1 minute. 2x 'digital' zoom (doesn't really zoom, just blows up an already grainy picture) Other Thoughts: I enjoy Linksys / Cisco product and usually find them to be high quality. The casing on this camera is nice and the interface is much like any other linksys product. from Newegg.com First of All let me say the Lynksys is Great! (Company and products) Now for the review: The WVC200 camera with audio has all the bells and whistles that a security camera would want to have. I never did get the (wireless) part configured and partly due to what was or wasn't in the packaged box. from Amazon.com The Camera set up easy within my own network..... However it took some help to actually find my video over the internet. from Amazon.com I bought a couple of these cameras to set up a home system and setup is a pain. Although overall nice cameras very buggy. I use a Linksys WRT600N router with TKIP and was able to set up one camera wireless with no problem. The other 2 to no avail. from Amazon.com Camera has built in webserver. You can type IP address in your browser and set it up online. You just have to hard wire it to your network before you turn it on to enable the nic and then restart it with the cable disconnected after you have configured it to put it back in wireless mode. Cons: Does not support WPA2 security (very sad for a newer product). from Newegg.com A link to codec can be found through the "web help" option in the error message. After installion, the file is still not viewable. Linksys support says this is known problem for ALL their cameras running on Vista. There is no work around. from Newegg.com Kept getting "mysteriously" disconnected or worse yet, put on hold for seemingly an eternity. The techs just don't have a clue so don't get your hopes up. LINKSYS is definitley not ready to support this caamera. from Newegg.com
