I bought the vx7000 about a month ago for me and my girlfriend to videochat. The difference in image quality between this and a low end creative is huge.
I bought three of these webcams so that I could do video calls with my grandchildren and my office when I am away. They were very easy to install and even easier to use.
I read a number of product review of webcams before making my selection of Microsoft Lifecam VX-7000. The lifecam VX-7000 is a wonderful product, it is easy to use and transmit a good video picture.
only one problem here. the camera will not work with dial up systems so be carful when buying
This is my 1st Cam, so the review will be circumspect. The video quality and sound seem to exceed friends and family members "cheaper" cams.
Pros: Build Quality, and overall size/shape. Good YouTube webcam. Cons: Doesn't work well with Vista + Yahoo Messenger.
Pros: Clear picture even in dark lighting. The microphone picks up my voice perfectly. I use this for MSN Messenger video calls and I have yet to find a better camera. I have just ordered more for the rest of my family so I can actually enjoy talking to them as much as they enjoy talking to me.
Pros: great web cam, I went through two cams before I bought this on, it was worth every penny I spent on it. Cons: None.
Cons: Image quality is really bad for a 2.0MP sensor. Even on the highest setting at 7.6MP (it uses software to get it that high) the quality is pretty terrible. Cheapo point-and-shoot digital cameras do a better job. They also don't tell you that once you go past 800x600 your video drops from 30fps down to about 5fps.
Pros: I'm sure someone else can think of one. Cons: The major problem with this camera is that it purports to be a 2.0 MP camera, but if you actually try to record at anything over 640x480 the frame rate drops incredibly low resulting in very choppy graphics. What's the point of high resolution if you can't effectively use it.
Now it's fast and easy to share real-time videos and photos with friends and family. And, with a High Definition 2.0 megapixel sensor and noise-canceling microphone, you'll think you're in the same room as your friends!
