If you're a regular user of fabric softener and have been using an older machine without dispensers, it can be a headache to add the softener for each load and at the right time. If it's time to get a new washing machine, you might want to look for one with a dedicated softener dispenser and helpful wash presets.
The best washing machines for fabric softener have at least 2 dispensers, one each for bleach and softener. Avoid washing machines that use the same slot for softener as for bleach, since mix-ups can have negative consequences.
Look for a washing machine that has wash presets. This feature allows you to choose from at least 5 or 7 wash presets including permanent press, delicates, hand wash, sanitary, soaking and cotton. This helps maximize how the softener is worked into your clothes depending on the cycle you choose.
