i've had lots of cheaper waffle irons and none have come close to this one.
we haven't looked back, and took the cheapie back to kohl's.
there are many waffle makers out there that are cheaper than this kitchen aid, but you'd be hard-pressed to find one that's better.
it is made of cheap plastic and sticks out.
apart from the buttons, knobs, and handles to open the lids, everything is metal -- there's no cheap plastic.

i guess that company/brand is now villaware; which is less sturdy, more along the lines of something cheaply made in china.

the battery-powered timer seems a little cheap, but the overall quality of the product is 5-star in my opinion.
the battery (which is a very cheap one, unlike the expensive button battery in your watch) in the presto maker is very very big compared to the watch battery.
the ones they sell to the public are large but made cheaply.
the presto 03510 is easy to use, takes up less counter space and again, makes really great waffles for a very cheap price.
