my only negative is the fact that very little info is in the user manual on using a digital recorder, with the capability of uploading the recordings to a pc, for copying my considerable collection

overall, the ds-40 seems like a well built and very functional little recorder.

this provides a little less than 9 hours of recording time, plenty for me as i transfer the files to my computer.

although the sony icd-sx46 is sleeker and cooler looking, the olympus ds40 is a little uglier, but simply more reliable.
