i purchased this voice recorder to be used by multiple people at our plant.
i am a blind professional and i use this recorder to take messgaes much as a sighted person would use paper and pen.
the batteries last a long time and the microphone picks up the most soft spoken person.
the user's manual is short and succinct and i don't have any sympathy for people who complain about the product without reading and understanding the manual.
it picks up on the slightest sound, even when people are speaking quietly.
there were a few elderly people who would claim my ...
it picks up people's voices from around the room pretty well.
i would do business with this person again.
however, this was mentioned in one person's review that switching the hold button to the hold position will turn off the devise.
briefly, i think this sony icd-b600 recorder would work better as a personal notetaker - digital reminder - if your memory is not that good one, or if downloading your recordings to your pc does not
three people at my company use this recorder and have had no complaints.
wayyy better than my old sony, i sit in the back of the class and i can still record perfectly..it doesn't pick up side noise and people talking, i love this.
i highly recommend it for students and people who need to record their thoughts every now and then.
i can also hear people's voices that were far across the room!
i went to frys to see if they could help me record a telephone conversation, and the sales person looked at me as if i were talking in a foreign language.
can put into separate mailboxes/categories such as by person, activity, task, etc.
i am in a profession where i deal with people.
a person at my job had this item and it worked extremely well for him.
i am a hypnotherapist and life coach and bought this recorder to be able to do personalized recording for clients in my office.
(note:i personally think its worth the trouble of installing this software.
and the dragon software will only "learn" one person's voice, so you can't transcribe a meeting with it.
was disappointed that the software is not mac compatible, as i was told via a sales person at circuit city that it was, but fortunately i have a pc also on which i installed the software.
some people spoke very softly, but the device still caught it.
the software was designed pretty much for an individual's speech pattern not for multple person speaking on a single recording.
if you are a person who can figure out technology without directions, this product is for you.
i personally find olympus recorder better because it has simple features.i am not very techy and have no time for that.
my main concern was the sound quality when the device was in a less than ideal position, so the first test was a keeping it in my pocket and record a conversation of 5 people in a normal sized room.
i would definitely recommend this recorder to a lot of people.
i don't need the voice guidance feature but it helps people who are blind or are lost and need help.
sometimes people talk so fast that i miss what they said.
i purchased this product to record focus groups of 10-12 people for several research projects we are conducting.
i bought the ds -30 olympus ds30 digital voice recorder mainly for interviews and conversations of up to 4 people for a research study.
you can pick out conversations when many people are talking at once, without difficulty when the device records at the highest level.
and the sony recorder is easier to use for non-technical people.
in fact it's ridiculous that they're still selling those machines with basically 60's technology and people keep buying them.
eventually, we found someone else (another visually impaired person) to answer the question.
even if the recording comes out, often you are seated in the audience of a meeting where people are not speaking through microphones and soft speakers just aren't recordable.
people who said it slowed down their computers obviously have an old computer.
i like when i can hand a device to someone and have them know exactly how to switch it on and with no on/off button people have to try a few times to get it to start when first using the device.
this would be ideal for a college student recording and saving lectures, or for other people such as pastors.
b: to do (personal) c: to do (work); d; tech stuff.
people always ask me...
sometimes i think people buy a bike and think they'll get a ferrari instead.
so he wanted a personal recorder for schoolwork and journalism work.
you can trust the 5 stars that many people have awarded this item already.
they are easy enough for the most technology challenged person to use.
pros: built to tolerate abuse, compact design, great recording quality, intuitive user interface, long battery life, plenty of feaures, reliable cons: cost, external mic feels flimsy, mediocre mp3
if you want something reliable with a good quality sound, voice recording features that when has a sound starts to record and a more 155 hours to record even your personal notes, better stop loooking
overall it is a good value for personal note taking and/or quick thoughts where playback sound quality is not an issue.
in short words, it was worth the price and since this is for personal use...i love it.
when the teacher is speaking or there is a dialog between two people, the sound quality is great.
none of the people i talked to seemed concerned that the specification sheet wrong.
one for work voice files, one for personal voice files, one for data file transfers, and one for music mp3 files.
minidisk recorders have in the past been a secret weapon of videographers or sound people for their own projects to capture sound that would other wise be missed.
as many of the people have stated, the internal speaker is pretty useless but the supplied earphones sound just fine and using some really nice headphones make the playback sound great.
the quality was good for my purpose, which was recording lessons from a large singing class of about 40 people
people need to know about this product; it is not worth the hype.
the owner's "manual" is printed in such small type that it defies even full sighted people from reading it.
i am a pastor and a forgetful person.
i didn't get mine from amazon, but people should know about this.
