Playback of sound on the recorder itself is pretty shoddy, of course, but the sound quality of the recording is good on my computer.
I received the recorder quicker than I expected, and it works great!
THE SOUND COULD BE JUST A LITTLE LOUDER, BUT THIS RECORDER WAS PERFECT FOR WHAT I NEEDED.
i would recommend this product to not only paranormal investigators..but to any proffesional who is in need of a magnificent dictation, music, conference device.the clarity is superb!
Picks up voice in large rooms, and play back very clear.
I tried it out with some friends and so far it creates much better recordings than my old tape recorder, but I have yet to see what will happen when I'm actually out "in the field." Nevertheless, it seems to be a promising little recorder.
Summary: Lots of features in this small package such as low pass filter, noise cancelling, voice filter etc.
Although the VN-4100pc is a top quality product, I can only give bad marks for Olympus' honesty in advertising this product and for their unresponsive support department.
This product was the least expensive out of a selection of recorders with similar features (256 megabites).
This is the best recording unit ever made.
I have had a few of these and by far this Olympus is the best.
Great product from Olympus.
the recorder is easy to use and has enough features to make it a true productivity booster.
this a wonderful compact recorder that records superbly i love the feature that stops and starts according to voice recognition that is awesome and it really saves on battery life.
i also purchased the $24 lavalier mic from olympus (any external mic with a 1/8" mini plug will work), clip it to my tie, plug it in to the ws-110, put the ws-110 in my pocket and preach away.
what's great about it:?size, quality, ease of use, price what's not so great:?none "i'm a pastor, and i record my sermons to post on my website.
the conference mode seems to be the clearest recording for me as it picks up well with decent quality.
the olympus w-10 digital voice recorder ($100 street), comes close to being the perfect pocket-size device for preserving audio notes.
it was so easy to install and to download wave and image files from the voice recorder to the computer, that i couldn't belive it.
it's very slim and sleek with a nice blue metallic color-fits in cell phone pocket in purse.
sound is very clear and understandable, it's small, easy to use for everybody.
but the recorder is easy to use, with working through the menu being easy enough for a bunch of 14-year-olds to figure out.
It seems to offer all the settings that one may want for a voice recorder: Quality control (3 settings), mic sensitivity (conf, dictation) and AVR with AVR level setting.
I purchased this for using during interviews so I could take a small photo to have next to the recording of the interviewee.
I'm just a simple user of digital recorders - typically employing them to catch ideas, dictate verbal "to-do" lists, etc.
The recorder has features that are not that easy to use but it does record well.
My daughter was struggling in her first year at college, so I purchased this RCA digital voice recorder so she could record her classes and take necessary photos in Chemistry, Biology and Calculus.
the sound quality is very good.
if all you want is an easy to use voice recorder that's inexpensive and doesn't have to sound good for music, this is it.
summary: product sound quality is ok, it cannot record good sound in a larger room.
as for the covert placment in the pocket to record conversations the zoom setting i have not tried.
ive recorded pipe organs and weddings with the rrus360 and found great sound quality.
the recorder itself is tiny, about the size of an ipod nano, but about twice the width, making it easy to carry in a pocket if necessary.
the product is easy to use and is very reasonably priced.
audio quality is good enough and i'm sure the fast forward and things like that could be better, but for the price and a basic unit that works, i like it.
the sound quality is as good as one could expect from any voice recorder; anything better would be rather remarkable.
voice clarity is very good.
If you want to stick with RCA, look at the model 5030, you will be much happier.
the recorder works nice and was priced right.
No one knows how how to get your files back (see Tech Guy forums for RP5020A).
it is light and easy to use.
As a digital voice recorder, this works fine.
I got this recorder as a replacement for a Panasonic recorder that was about 9 years old.
Another benefit of the Olympus is that the file format of the recordings are compatible with my PC whereas the Panasonic files require conversion using the software supplied with the unit.
Too bad the US470’s horribly counterintuitive control system, unclear settings, and vague interface forced us to repeatedly RTFM.
Pros: An upgrade that doubles memory without any real cost impact.
