If you want to record plain voice or voices for a short time in a situation where the voices are quite clear in a relatively small room, this unit will work fairly well for you. Under these circumstances the automatic level control in recording works well and the playback through the unit gives adequate intelligible fidelity even on the slower tape speed. from Amazon.com I needed a micro cassette recorder that I could use it with headphones and with this one you cannot.
