now to debunk some of the other bad reviews, assembly was a piece of cake, no directions needed, but in case you do need them, they have little pictures to guide you through it.

you simply press the release button and remove the entire bin assembly from the vacuum, stand over a garbage can and pull the "trigger" to release the bottom door.
