As an owner of several Dyson uprights, I was excited about the Root 6. Finally, a portable vac for quick pick ups around the house. from Amazon.com Boy, after 2 minutes with this vacuum I put it down in frustration and emailed Dyson customer support. There's no on/off switch! from Amazon.com Didn't know it had a 6 minute battery. By the time I vacuum out my son's whisker hairy sink, bedroom shelves, and some dog hair, the vacuum is dead - gotta recharge. I couldn't afford the upright Dyson vacuums, so I was really pleased to see their line of more affordable handhelds. The suction of the device seems good. But even *great* suction for only six minutes every three hours would render any vacuum cleaner unusable for anything except, say, cleaning-up a pile of cracker dust.
