He said that the spotbot is a good idea, but they have many, many issues that result in costly repairs that are worth more than the machine itself. He said if I brought it to him, all he would do is return it to the company and they'd give me a different one and it would take a long time. I have no intentions of buying another bissell floor cleaner again. I also noticed a tiny amount of water leaking from the hose where it attaches to the machine. from Amazon.com Carpet remains pretty wet, and I had to blot it with a towel, to get up more of the water.
