finally the power paw thing (upholstery cleaning tool) is very effective, even pressing pretty hard into the couch with the thing, the gearing inside it keeps the little brush spinning well. now for some of the drawbacks. i was not looking forward to buying a bagless vacuum again but we did. this thing has 2 washable filters that are easy enough to clean, but we need to clean them about every 1 or 2 weeks since we use it about 2 times a day cleaning up after the pets and kids. from Circuitcity.com Easily the worst "bargain" out there. Our old old Eureka (we're talking 15 years old, my mom gave it to us) finally died and my wife bought this one on sale at a chain department store. It's poor feed design allows the hose to pack fibers and clogs in multiple places. from Amazon.com I called the 800 number and customer service refered me to a local service shop. When I got to the service center, however, the service guy plugged it up, turned it on and said it was the motor and would NOT work on it. He said these models always have motor problems and it would cost more to take it apart than Eureka would pay him for the repair. Hoses will clog, belt will break, plastic pieces break off and it will become so loud you will go deaf! Eureka will NOT help you and will refer you to a service center.
