My parents used to own a Dyson but they wanted a self-propelled vacuum (the Dyson is a bit heavy to use, especially for older seniors). I got them this because 1. from Amazon.com Most of the time I can't get it to switch from self-propel "on" to self-propel "off". Even worse than that problem is the fact that the vacuum won't turn off! I have to unplug it from the wall to turn it off. I have used this cleaner less than 20 times and think it is a hunk of junk. from Amazon.com I have to say that of all the Hoover vacuums that I have ever owned (4 now) - this one really disappointed me.
