I chose this one because of the voltage and reading other reviews. My old Black & Decker was about as helpful as a 90 yr old sucking up dust through a straw and I had to wrestle it loose from it's mounting plate with more than one expletive when I smashed my fingers releasing it from that mounting plate's Herculean grip. The Shark SV736K is amazing. Also love how well it cleans the cars. Before, I had to use standard canister vac to clean the cars because B&D handheld was not powerful enough, and lost the charge too quickly. This is frequent and would be expensive. I can't seem to find the exact filter for the SV736K. It did not have suction at all, did not stay charged for very long and it cost more than this one. from Amazon.com The brush attachment actually rotates using the power supplied by the battery, NOT the power of the suction (anyone with a Wind Tunnel vacuum should know exactly what I mean). You'll notice the metal prongs that stick out from the brush attachment. If you're trying to decide between one handheld vacuum or another, well make sure this feature is included.
