Today I went to use it and no luck. The water/shampoo isn't coming out. And of course the Bissell.com site is down and their customer service isn't open on Sundays. HELLO isn't the weekend when people clean their homes? from Amazon.com The second time, however, I found that it wasn't spraying water/shampoo from the bottom, but the hand held sprayer worked fine. I followed the troubleshooting procedures as outlined in the manual with no success. I called Bissell customer service who had me clean out the little spray heads. That did not work. from Amazon.com I'm not sure if we just have bad luck, but we find that carpet cleaners like this Bissell and other brands just don't last to justify their price. We considered renting a "Rug Doctor" at the local supermarket, but finally purchased this Bissell model with the idea that it was new and would probably be more economical in the long run than repeatedly renting "Rug Doctors." Filling the cleaning solution container is similarly simple. Since I had pet stains, I made good use of the tough stain pre-treater that came with the Bissell. The absolute worse thing is that it does not suck up the water and/or solution very well, if at all! I called Bissell customer service. You fill up a bladder inside the tank of hot tap water, the machine mixes in the right amount of formula (which is put in a separate formula tank) based upon your soil level setting, heats it up an extra 25 degrees, and spits it out on your carpet when you depress the trigger. from Amazon.com
