I got the professional series because I have a family of professional grade mess makers (kids, husband, pets, etc.). I love it! from Amazon.com I purchased this version(610) directly from iRobot thinking it could handle our main living space with hardwood floors. It has failed to say the least, dog hair makes its way into the gears and it cannot run unless you clean them. from Amazon.com My yellow lab has allergies and sheds fine hair like crazy. My Roomba 610 picks his hair up perfectly, and has been running fine for 6 months.
