This product is not entirely trustworthy.
The Norton Software is by far one of the most widely used antivirus products available on the market today.
I have used Norton for several years and currently have the most up-to- date version installed on three computers.
Over the last three years, we have observed that for the most part, the product is reliable and will protect your computer until a number of days in the final Month of the product expiration date.

I purchased the 3 user edition recently. I installed on my own laptop, and have found it is much harder to find settings and configure vs.
previous versions.
Upgrades are supposed to improve the product, but Symantec found a way to make this version worse.

I have a Dell laptop (core duo) with MS WP installed and Norton Internet Security 2006.
No problems whatsoever with NIS 2006.

The install on one machine worked really well.
On the 2nd machine, the installation did hang up forever.
I had to then manually uninstall the 2007 Norton version, then go to Symantec's website to download a special uninstaller, and then only I could install the 2008 version without a problem.

I started with Norton 360, and it simply would not load on either of my computers. The problem appeared to be a combination of bugs in the software and interference with previously installed Norton products (although I followed all instructions to remove them).
Almost everything I did resulted in my being directed to the Norton site to download a patch, as if they were going to release the beta test version in a few months.
I received a refund and decided to buy Norton Antivirus on the assumption that it was a mature product.

In my business of consulting and maintaining computers for a 500 user client base, I have tried all the products and frankly none of them are perfect, including the Symantec line.
Over the years I have suffered the sluggish performance brought about by the incredible resource load that Norton used to impose, but they seem to have heard the complaints and fixed it.

I haven't used 2008 yet but after fighting with 2007 I found a simple problem that may affect most 2008 users.
First off I'm used to 75% of Windows users having a corrupted or improperly installed PC OS Especially if you've Upgraded over the previous OS.

Uninstalls fine, after 3 hrs, due to phishing toolbar not working properly and chat room Norton Tech advising me to do so.
Does not reinstall, but gives off error popups.
Talk with Norton Techs on Chat line for 4 separate times, with no luck, besides frustration.
Norton Tech Chat Line is manned by uncourteous, non-mannered, non prepared and unknowledgeable people.
