What's great about it:?easy to use for novice , sped up my slow computer "I like this a lot better than my former anti-virus program. It improved the speed of my computer & was easy to download for a non-geek. from Bestbuy.com I HAVE USED THIS PRODUCT NOW FOR ONE YEAR AND JUST RENEWED MY SUBSCRIPTION. IT IS SO GREAT FOR KEEPING MY COMPUTER RUNNING SMOOTH. from Amazon.com I was having some major problems with my computer (viruses, running very slowly, adware, etc) and an apparently delusional friend of mine recommended System Mechanic 7 Professional. I paid full price for it in a big electronics chain store and couldn't even get it installed on my computer. It would say that it was being installed, even if I left the computer on and running for two days! from Amazon.com Just move on and don't even think about buying it. Add/Remove uninstalls but a fraction of the junk. A global search for Iolo in the registry turned into an hour process to remove the rest of the entries. And still the IFW_Xfilter.dll file cannot be deleted because it says still in use. from Amazon.com I always swore by this software. Then I got a new laptop with Vista installed. System Mechanic 6 was not compatible so I was forced to upgrade to version 7. What a nightmare this software is. from Amazon.com Do not install this software or You will regret the day you did. System Mechanic 7 Pro by Iolo is spyware. If not already, Iolo needs to be investigated by the justice dept. from Amazon.com Have had multiple problems with this iolo product. Purchased it after seeing the recommendations on their package. from Amazon.com Due to problems with the Firewall, Virus Detection and total lack of support responses, I chose to not renew my subscription. The software has now fully disabled itself so I can no longer use the few parts that did work. For the first time EVER I got a response from Iolo's Tech Support when I asked about the fact that the software claimed it would still run in Analysis mode but in actuality it wouldn't once my "optional" subscription has expired. The single sentence response: "Since you decided to not renew, the software will stop functioning." from Amazon.com A. Had product for one year and product has never worked correctly. B. from Amazon.com I am running System Mechanic 7 Professional on a Dell Inspiron 1150 running Vista and it works great. The only minor glitch i had when using on Vista instead of XP was a window would sometimes come up asking me to register even though I had already. Iolo support told me it was a known glitch and to hit cancel and it will work fine...which it did. After years of frustration with Norton and McAfee bogging down my computer, System Mechanic doesn't hog the memory and constantly send warnings like the others did...always felt like I was chasing ghosts that weren't there. from Amazon.com
