both the hub and ac plug are larger than they have to be so it might not be for someone needing it in a tight space but then neither does it flop all over your desk at the lightest touch.
there was an orange insert with large block letters asking the user to try the following before returning the product.
i like the way the usb ports laid out, but the bulky power adaptor is a little annoying.
it does work with the smaller gigibank hard drives though.
nice and compact, seems to work well.
this little usb hub is just perfect -- the usb ports are spaced enough so that you can fit large usb plugs into each one, and it really is plug and play.
this usb hub works really well, and is a perfect size to keep in my computer bag or in my purse when i travel.
i work for a large real estate firm and i was tired of having to unplug my scan disk to load theirs so i can work on their project.
quite compact.
basically it just works, and is small enough to not get in the way of its primary job - allowing me to connect all the peripherals for rock band on the ps3.
however, the power plug is practically larger than the hub (and it is strategically not shown in the picture, which i think is deceptive because it's quite bulky).
but it's nice to have the option.as with any small usb hub, there's a chance that you may have difficulty fitting devices that are slightly larger than average, e.g.
as another reviewer noted, it does have a very large power brick, but other than that, it's been a fine workhorse with absolutely no problems.
a little larger than i wanted but works very nicely.
nice small size.
the transfer rates are fine for my needs, even when transferring large photo files from my dslr.
not a large issue since i bought them for my computers.
sabrent usb hub is compact, slim, and self-powered.
made in china, the packaging claims that this is the "world's smallest usb hub," something i can neither confirm nor deny!
i just absolutely love its small space saving design.
no issues at all ever.cons: the power supply block is very large, but i dont care because i have the outlets for it.other thoughts: i dont care for the blue, but that is preference only.
pros: size of unit makes it practical.cons: the power supply (that did not work)is gigantic for a 6v output!
mine has a tiny power supply (the size of one of those mini-candy bars), has 7 ports, and is a piece of junk.
pros: it's cheap and small and has 4 ports.cons: unfortunately win98 machine won't boot when device power supply is plugged in.
the images make the port look really large.
one recommendation, a larger, heavier base as the unit tips easily when any cable is moved (a minor annoyance).
it is the perfect size for the desk or to take with the laptop.
location of plug-ins makes it easy for quick use, and it's small compact size doesn't take up much room.
it is small, decorative, looks great on my desk.
the power adapter is a bit large, and i think it could be put together a bit better.
good performance cons: it is a bit large.
one nice feature is that the leds are large and bright so you can see them in even in direct sunlight.
my two targus mini-hubs (one an earlier 1.1, the other a 2.0 -- bought after the demise of the two d-links) are ultra-compact, don't seem to want a power supply,& have worked very well on four pcs
i bought a much smaller siig usb 2.0 mobile/notebook hub (not the "mini hub" one which is bigger), and it doesn't have these problems.
the ac adapter is one of those large ones, so make sure you have room in your power strip if that's what you use.vista recognized it right away and it was ready to go.i like the fact it has 2 usb
my only (minor) complaint is that belkin has chosen to use the small-ended usb connector to your computer (similar to that used on cameras) instead of the more standard larger-ended connector.
this product is compact, easy to use/setup, fast while providing room to add more usb devices as needed.
the small cable management sleeve on the side of the hub is a bonus, my wife uses it to hold the cable for her digital camera dock which helps keep her computer desk better organized.
the power cord has a very small conversion block.
it's got a large, bright blue led power indicator right in the middle, and is otherwise unremarkable.
i ended up doing a little modification w/ the mounting bracket in order to put a larger bolt in it and bolted it to the back of my computer towerand bam!!!
after doing some fairly extensive research on usb hubs, i found that most all of them are pretty large.
on the plus side, this hub has a nice, sturdy, compact, aluminum case.
this is a crappy usb port because it is weak and cannot handle transferring large files within the folders.
this is a quality product and works as you would expect; however, it is a bit larger than i imagined from the photo in the description.
this means it does have a larger than smaller footprint (~3x4, plus the necessary 2" clearance behind for plus projecting) but i have the room, so i can live with that.
for a desktop unit like this, a full-sized usb-b plug for the pc connection is a must!
it is small and unobtrusive.
small compact and very nice looking.
