The switch seems to work satisfactorily.
This IOGear switch gets the job done for my system.
Works well.
I got this so my wife & I could share a printer/scanner/fax in our house.
I had a kvm that I was using between an Apple and a PC to share monitor, usb, etc.
other thoughts: i've had other usb2 hubs and they were very flaky, a usb drive plugged into it would disconnect and then reconnect every 30 seconds, but this one has been great, linksys makes a
in my opinion, it's hard to go wrong with a linksys product.
took longer to cold boot than it did for xp to recognize the hub.
i run some intense things through it sometimes and it doesn't sacrifice speed.cons: maybe a bit bulky for just a 4-port hub, but i don't mind at all.
this hub is so small that if nothing is connected to it, i can close my hand around it and hide the whole thing.
this hub is exactly what i needed to alow more cappacity for usb ports on my laptop.
great little usb hub that happily runs my mouse, network adapter and flash drive on my older laptop.
it worked well upon installation (using microsoft vista.) iwill definately buy another for my wifes laptop.
it works perfectly, and it's small and sleek.
you must remember that the device has no exteral power so don't plug stuff up that pulls power off of the usb port.
windowsxp saw it and used it with no problem, no software needed and it runs both my usb 2.0 and usb 1.1 hardware.
i was amazed as the small size but it's one of the best usb product's i've ever purchased!
my laptop did not recognize either my seagate or my wd external dives when they were connected to this hub.
windows just hangs, eventually displaying the message that there's a problem using the usb device.
when i use my ge compact hub the same laptop recognizes both of my drives.
it will run 127 usb connections!!
all from one usb port on my laptop!
it's compact and does a great job.
this is a reasonably compact and useful usb hub.
it's so small you hardly know it's there.
it is then connected through a belkin usb kvm to pcs running win xp and linux.
i purchased the belkin f5u234 usb hub yesterday and have been very pleased with how it painlessly connected all of my usb devices.
i plugged it in and it worked...at usb 2.0 speeds.
because it only has 2 usb ports and they are awkwardly located in the back of the tower, i bought this device to connect my peripherals more conveniently.
on the targus i kept getting the "connecting usb 2.0 high speed device to usb 1.0 hub" message from windows xp.
i had 1 usb port break on my laptop and it enables me to now have more ports that i needed.
i had been searching for a usb 2.0 hub for awhile for my laptop.
did not want long cables, or pigtails, just a hub that plugged in.
if your device need power over the usb (such as portable hd) it has a power supply that you can connect to an outlet (included in the package but optional to use)
couldn't simply plug the hub straight into one of my desktop's usb ports to use it that way as the keyboard would function off of it but my mouse would not.
use them for my laptop so i only have to plug in one usb cable.
needed more usb ports and this did the trick for our sons laptop.
performs very fast as well.
sheesh, there are laptop computers about that size.
disappointing to pay $30+ for a device that lasts such a small period of time.
i simply go to one of these, plug in a usb cable, push the switch and use any of the peripherals i choose.
computer #1 positions are desktops, and the #2 positions are used for my laptops.
works great, no software, just plug and play.
it worked immediately after windows had recognized the usb devices.
fantastic plug and use works great pc and apple to hp 7210 printer all- in -one....looked for a long time to find this product!...
i just couldn't use it with my canon scanner, would not work with that, but it freed up a usb so i could plug the scanner in,so it worked for me.
has blue led's for when a usb device is plugged in.
nice size.
even when the usb flash drive (a kingston hi-speed 512mb) was the only device plugged in, the transfers were still slow.
pros: lightweightworks without issueleds to indicate connection for each portcons: noneother thoughts: if you are looking for a meaty piece of equipment with extras, this is not it.
rather than connecting it to the server (on the other side of the house) i decided to try this device.
it took me longer to get the device out of the hard plastic sealed packaging than to set it up.
one of my computers is xp pro the other is vista home premium.
i have it connected to multiple computers and i have also connected this product to a usb hub with multiple printers so i can print from any one of the computers to the printer that i select.
instead, you manually press the button on the hub, but i knew this when i bought it so i give it five stars for doing what it states well, its small profile, and ease of use and setup!
if you have a usb connection that takes up space because of its width, it accomodates for it with its design.
it's perfect for laptop users and requires no software.
this usb hub doesn't require an additional power source and is comparably priced to the bulky ones that do.
it's 'plug and play' feature makes it easy for even the beginner.
also a nice size for travel and i have one in my computer bag and two for home use.
received the product promptly and was easy to connect.
just plug it in and it works.
this producrt is great addition to my laptop at work and at home.
performance was a little disappointing when transfering large amounts of data.
small, powered, lightweight, and long enough power cord extention for use.
i bought this belkin hub so i would have easy access to plug in a thumb drive.
i was able to carefully pop off the top of this and place a sub-c sized battery inside perfectly.
summary: i was able to carefully pop off the top of this and place a sub-c sized battery inside perfectly.
loading port is very convenient weaknesses: very lightweight, the bottum is not metal summary: i was able to carefully pop off the top of this and place a sub-c sized battery inside perfectly.
the back ports making hiding the usb plugged devices easy, but it also makes plugging in new ones a pain.
i really like how compact this is.
good value, easy to use, small footprint.
i use the external power connector that shipped with the product, as i figured that 7 ports would be too much for a usb-powered hub to handle.
this hub does everything it claims to do and performance wise it is a good buy.
it works extremely well (so much so that i tend to forget that it is there), sits solidly on my desk vertically, which means a small footprint and simply does what it has to do.
this product is compact, discrete, elegant, and the usb ports are easily accessible--exactly what i was looking for in a usb hub.
it's powered, so you can count on all usb devices working properly, and the size is great!
one this that annoyed me about it was the fact that it comes with no small usb cable to join it to a pc.
i used to use firewire on my macbook pro, but firewire is just not that reliable because of probably the plugs and it is very frustrating and time consuming to get it to work and to trouble shoot the
it can handle many usb connections from its own power supply and thus is better than the non-powered usb hubs.
the hub does come with 3 usb ports but it's using up one of the existing ps3 ports to connect to it.
it plugs into the bottom usb port and snaps into the air vent for a secure fit; also flush with the front and side of the ps3.
there are two plastic nubs on top which do fit into the vent holes above the usb ports, but it doesn't snap in place, so when you plug anything in it flexes downward slightly.
the media hub+ is very helpful in that it adds an extra plugin for any new items you may have purchased for your playstation 3.
a very small, self powered usb hub w/ memory card reader.
Won't be buying again from iogear.
Needing to expand the number of USB ports I have available, I decided to purchase an Iogear 4 PORT USB 2.0 HIGH-SPEED Hub.
This 4 port UBS hub is definitely worth the money.
Comments: Bought this hub after buying a non-powered hub that didn't work on any of the T23 laptops here, but worked on evrything else.
into one of my macbook's 2 usb ports...i was able to transfer files from my laptop to my 2tb external hard drive, and simultaneously transfer files from my 500 gb external drive to the 2tb drive.
i'm not super technical, so i don't know how it all works, but with all my external devices plugged into the hub, and the 1 cable plugged into one of my macbook's 2 usb ports...i was able to transfer
it's really small and simple, and does just what you want it to.
performs very good
i use a usb plugin called magicjack which is "internet telephone" and it was stopping and restarting several times a day on my laptop.
he hub is small and does not take up mch space.
prosi bought this device when i added a laptop to my home network.
usb switch works for my multiple computers to connect to the printer.
important note that applies to all printer sharing switches: your existing computer-printer is connected using 1 usb a/b cable, and you will need 1 additional a/b cable for each computer you are
a person immediately plugs in a usb hub to the unit though as there is only one on board usb port.
