Although I like the Belkin hub, when I ordered it from Amazon, I received it in poor condition. The package was sealed, but the device was scratched and beat up. from Amazon.com My F5U237 V3 worked very well and had a functional and aesthetically pleasing design. About a year after I purchased the hub Windows started giving me the unknown USB device found routine. from Amazon.com I used this for several years on a Dell desktop and IBM Thinkpad running Windows XP Pro that I bought in 2003, and now use it on a new Macbook running Leopard 10.5 with the same ease of use. In fact I have created a virtual PC on my Macbook (using VMWare Fusion, which I have reviewed on Amazon)running Windows XP Pro SP 3, and this hub allows me to effortlessly switch hard drives and USB sticks between my Mac and virtual PC. from Amazon.com The Belkin USB 2.0 hub was very easy to setup. The top mounted jacks allow very easy access for memory sticks or camera connections. from Amazon.com Pros: small, good layout, stackable Cons: price Other Thoughts: This isn't the cheapest 7-port hub, but if you need lots of ports, it is the way to go. If you buy two, you can stack them neatly and you end up with 4 top ports (good for thumb drives, bluetooth adaptors, and other 'sticks') and 9 rear ports (you lose one when you daisy chain). from Newegg.com Pros: Does everything you want, great price. Have had for 2 years. from Newegg.com Cons: It's maybe a little too light. Some of the heavier, tighter cords kinda pull on the back and tilt the front up a bit. Also, the power cord is ridiculous; it's probably long enough for you, but the plug itself is larger than a normal AC adaptor black box, it's maybe 2"x4" right at the wall - a pain to use with power strips. Other Thoughts: Overall it does it's job, technically well, but the plastic is the same cheap stuff you'd find in most low end consumer electronics, the plug is too big, and the thing is actually too light. from Newegg.com Nice design and it worked well for 2 years, then failed. Not what I would expect for a belkin product. Shopping for another maker next time. from Amazon.com The silver finish is uneven, even worn off (out of the box) in a few spots. And the clear cover over the LED indicators is falling off. Perhaps Belkin's new "Plus" hubs are better, but I'm not willing to find out.
