1. Some of the ports may get hot when using the power adapter. It's OK. from Amazon.com I researched on the Web because I had a cheap 7 port usb hub from ComputerGeeks. It ended up in a year and a half that 3 of the ports would not communicate. from Amazon.com I bought two Macally TriHub7's both of them had issues with the second port from the right getting too hot to touch. This was sad as I really liked the design. from Amazon.com So far so good, all ports are working. Great design to have everything linear (including power adapter). from Amazon.com I purchased this to replace a 4 port USB hub. It works great except for one thing I've found so far. from Amazon.com My wife uses it ever day, using 4 of 7 ports it works as advertised so far. I was looking for a multi port USB hub since my current 7 port hub is full (lots of USB drives, printers, cameras, scanners, etc.). So I did a search and selected hubs with 4+ star ratings. from Amazon.com I purchased 2 of these and love the design. I was trying to find hubs that had the ports on the front with no wires from the back. I found that hard to find until these. from Amazon.com It looks nice and does good job of transferring files and powering devices. One this that annoyed me about it was the fact that it comes with no small usb cable to join it to a PC. So you basically have to find a USB Type A to Type A cable and use up one of the 7 ports to connect it to your PC/Mac. They really should've added a discrete micro USB connector on the side or back that led to your computer. from Amazon.com
