one other really nice feature is the fan only kicks on during a black out....brown outs and spikes are taken care of with the avr function and the unit remains silent...which is a good thing for home

i'm usually a hardcore apc fan but i just couldnt justify paying a hundred more (209 + shipping (20-30)) for thier comparable product.

my only concern is that when the ups is powering the system you can smell a slight 'electronic' odor from the unit as the internal fan always kicks on high while in backup mode.
