other thoughts: kept my system up under load for 40 minutes before it dropped to 10% battery remaining.
almost 10 minutes of backup power cons: none other thoughts: i use cyberpower ups's on some of my servers and they are just as good as any other brand i have ever used, and cheaper too.
no problem switiching between line power and battery back.
other thoughts: best deal for the money i found.
about half the price of the leading brand.
tripp lite is a wonderful and dependable product.
the ups was easy to install and looks great, too!
other thoughts: i've always used @pc brand ups products and never had a problem.
i am able to monitor the battery in linux via the usb cable and shutdown my machine if the ups is getting low.
i was looking for something cheaper to power my home server rack so i gave this a shot.
no problem with set up and function.
this is an excellent back up unit for the price.
i purchased the tripp lite internet750u for protecting a new plasma tv (battery backup and surge), along with audio equipment for surge protection.
nine months later, no current and a leaking battery.
I had the tripp lite 750VA for two months now and the product has performed well.
at this price, it doesn't make sense to be without a ups.
you can set the overvoltage and undervoltage thresholds to trigger battery power mode, as well as the time to run on battery power before shutting down the computer.
batteries are replacable without shutting off this unit!
the hardware installation is pretty idiot-proof; even by my standards.
awsome price, excellent performance, quality build.
can not install on 2k server if it is a domain controller (temp install).
solid small load performer.
about once a week, i find that it is switching from on battery to off battery constantly (every half second or so).
and never had trouble with any of the computer , pbx, etc.cons: not much.other thoughts: we modified some of them to connect to 100ah gell cell battery, now our ups last about 10 to 20 hours.
summary: this product works very well and enables you to work through brownouts and blackouts, but it has one major nuisance: every time the backup battery is activated, an audible alarm goes off

so far i had about 4 times power disruption, and it performed well to be on battery and shut down the system.
a notch above the entry level units strengths: adequate backup for most home pcs, has voltage regulation weaknesses: lcd is cool, but may be useless/invisible depending on where you position the
other thoughts: it easily handles my dual 19" monitors and a pc with a 750w psu.
even though it is not discussed much here, it has a sensitivity dial in the back that allows you to adjust its delay in kicking over to the battery when you have minor ripples in ac line power.
it corrects a fair amount of line problems without the need to switch to battery.
if you are serious about keeping clean, reliable power going to your equipment then this is the must-have ups.
if i were to take a guess, the manufacturing process for the plastic housings on ups units are getting cheaper and cheaper.
installation was quick and easy and the product functions well.
cool device to provide the power protection for my a/v equipment and best of all at the right price.
great price and shipping - highly recommended.
those bulbs are expensive.
set up was easy.
it does what it should and you can't beat the price.
but cyberpower warrants their batteries for 3 years along with the rest of the unit, so you're covered!
i had a cyberpower 1500 ups a long time ago, and the remarkable thing about their warranty was that they covered the batteries, too.
cyberpower uses standard off-the-shelf batteries in all of their ups units.
the avr units are more cost-effective than the units from apc.
you can hook it up to your pc with a usb cable and download the program on line that will let you monitor your battery back-up through your computer.
i had many problems with getting the communication to the pc to work - i kept getting ''usb device not recognized'' errors, and windows wouldn't recognize it.
not only the least expensive ive found for a digital read out, but the read out makes it easy to determine your battery charge, voltage and possible trouble in the back-up.
set up is as simple as plugging it in an outlet.
so well i just ordered another one at the same price for my pc and office setup...this is a really good deal for a unit of this size...i've been looking at these for quite some time so i can attest!
i feel much safer knowing that i not only have a great surge protector but also that there's enough battery time to back-up and save anything should the power go out.this is the most affordable
this product performs adequately, and has a price that can't be beat.
great price, great product.
if you are going to use their software to manage the ups, do not install it from the cd.
when you run up to 6 computers at one time, you want to have a backup you can rely on if and when the power goes out.
for the money you can't beat it.
it's pretty good power inverter for the price.
i used this one night in a power outage running my 27" television, an 18 watt lamp, and my satellite box receiver using two marine batteries in parallel.
powers all my devices (laptop, phone and camera chargers) at once.
high watts for a good price at amazon.
massive amounts of battery backup power when compared to cheap retail backups.
software install for linux was a snap.cons: none, unless you want a fancy gui for looking at your ups status under linux.
the price point is fantastic and i am now using this to protect two poweredge servers.cons: not a recognized brand.
can't beat the cost for these options.
great unnit has all the connectons for equipment you would use in home or offie setting, very easy to set up and install software, works great with windows2000 pro and win.
great unit and price.
prosfor the price the belkin does fine .they are easy to set up and have good substantial stands or brackets that came with them to steady them when in use.
here are my comments on my new battery backup.
the instructions did not include any information about installing the drivers for windows xp.
upon purchase, i charged the unit over night as instructed and plugged my pc into the backup system the following morning.
i have a high powered computer, 20in lcd monitor, tivo and cable modem hooked up to the battery back up sockets.
i tested out the battery life after charging it for approximately 48 hours.
summary: a very efficient, cost friendly way to protect an expensive pc.
there are actually four outlets that are on battery backup and four on surge.
does exactly what it says it will.
:-) because of the excess wieght, shipping is realtively slow and expensive compared to ups or fedex, but the ait delivery man brought the palette right up to my desk for me.
this ups is really two seperate, two-rack-space modules: one for the controller / transformer and another for the battery pack.
these unit have been absolutely reliable.
overall construction is good.
no "running on battery" warning.
cons: line interactive ups do nothing about power clean up due to your systems are still rely just plugged into the wall.
one pc with a 450w power supply and a 15" lcd.
in my office we get lots of little surges, and fluctuations in power, i can hear the unit kick over to battery, then right back to ac.
Other Thoughts: In response to the other review, it's a 350W UPS, it could be becauseyou used to much power, probably about 600W if you had a 450W psu and a 15" monitor hooked up.
since installing the new continuous power supply, my computer has behaved beautifully, and stays on during mild brownouts.
installed in minutes, ran the self test and all's well.
the battery percentage icon would read 100% and all of a sudden the power would go out.
it seems that tripp lite at least for this product has gone cheap.
we opened each one and plugged them in to charge overnight (you have to turn them onto do this, ofcourse).
fantastic product at a fantastic price.
i have to say that this a wonderful piece of equipment and difinately worth the price.
although this device has been stripped of its discription since it was first put on this site, it is the belkin 1200 va four battery two non ups power supply for pcs.
belkin made me pay for the return shipping on it at nearly $20, that really increased the cost of the device for me.
since i have 2 pcs at home, it will shut them both down if we lose power.cons: none so far.
the electricity goes off for about a half second, but then comes right back on - just long enough to make my pc reboot.
we have about 30 of this and so far they have proved to be reliable
(not all of the 18 have this problem.) the usb connection to the winxp based "power options" tab automatically gives you a "running on batteries" option for graceful shutdown (i suppose) before the
battery backup side randomly powers off completely even with no fluctuation or failure in the ac.
leds give you the unit's status and it beeps when you're on battery backup.
