I may get another of the same unit or a similar unit which uses the same batteries for interchanging purposes. There is one feature that is missing They should have given the Phone RJ11 two-line (four wire), I would have paid a bit more for that feature. APC's big thing is their customer service from Compusa.com Pros: Has protected my main brick for 5 years. At 1200va/780w, it failed miserably to even handle a boot up of a Mac Pro (new Intel models). The Mac was the *only* unit drawing power from it (the cinema display was on a separate UPS). from Amazon.com The price is right. Cons: NONE Other Thoughts: Occasional power glitches were downing my two Linux machines several times a week, including one that I had in the DMZ so that some people that I work with can share files. I've had an older APC for years (it's on it's third battery, and this experience and anecdotes from others here is why I mention excellent customer service) and was thinking of adding a third computer. The software works fine and I have 20 minutes of battery power if the electricity goes out. from Amazon.com I had thought it was the batteries, but the unit would not power on at all. The batteries inside the UPS were bulging, looks like they almost exploded. I emailed APC Tech support on Monday night to see what I could do to test the unit before ordering replacement batteries and the next day they asked me for my shipping info. Today (Thursday) I received this new BR1200 from them. from Newegg.com Sometimes I can hear it clicking on and off providing smooth power as I sit at the computer which doesn't miss a beat. Hawaii's power grid is comparable to Yugoslavia's -- you better have a UPS for your electronics and a generator in your storage shed. I shudder to think what would be left of my brand new iMac if I had just plugged it into our island's stone-age power supply. from Amazon.com
