this pod is stable enough to handle my camera (30D with my lens weight is about 1,4 Kg), I'm taking it often with me, good for taking pictures in nature without need to take my regular tripod.

Not that big of a deal - all I needed to to was either to widen the area that the tripod legs stood upon, or re-orient the legs to compensate for the off-balance nature of the setup.
