you have to be careful not to use a camera with plastic threads or metal threads mounted in plastic, as the locking mechanism can either strip the threads of the camera or pull the threaded grommet

lots of searching and thinking with adaptors and bushings because monfrotto is threaded for 3/8" while the u212 is 1/4".

very pleased with the tripod - it has a very nice silky feel to the catches and threads that hold the head in place.

this is my only complaint, it tilts up and to the sides very smoothly and as long as you tighten with pressure, the threads hold and do not unthread themselves.
