downside for this light-weight, low-priced tripod is that it is not suitable for slrs with heavy lenses.
i use a lot of night vision, and long range lens's, these get heavy on the tilt pan head of the tripod, and it starts to move, or bend over time.
also i use it for my old seagull df300 35mm slr professional camera (much heavy), it was stable under 50 inches height.
plastic body makes it fragile, but this is the tradeoff for light-weight.

this tripod is great value for money- it's relatively compact and lightweight with a handle making it easy to carry, it's quick to put up and put down again, it has a hook to hang weights off to
pretty light weight.
if you want something with a solid feel, you will have to move up the food chain, but will sacrifice compactness and light weight of this product.

i wouldn't recommend using this tripod in the field, its more for studio use and or outdoor use where you don't have to lug it around so much.
it's not light however so it's not the best for hiking or things of that nature.

in terms of the "cons" related to this product, the #1 is (quite obviously) that it is a heavy tripod and not something you'd want to lug around when camping or such.
