I use this tripod with a Nikon D80 and the Nikon 18-200mm VR zoom. Together those weigh about 1360g (about 3lbs). Along with the Manfrotto 484RC2 ball head it is very stable and so easy to use. The locks on the legs never slip (the tension is adjustable) and the ball head make it so much easier to quickly position the camera than one of those AZ/EL heads you see used with camcorders (the AZ/EL head is better for panning with a camcorder). from Wolfcamera.com I was really happy with the build quality of the tripod as soon as i opend the package, i had been researching a lot of different Tripods from Slik pro ,Gitzo and for the price and quality i think i got a real good deal on this one.
