I guess all the budget tripods are probably similar. I was a bit disappointed by how cheaply made the tripod is. from Amazon.com It is light enough that I can cary it hooked onto my camera bag (probably around 3 pounds) when I hike to take pictures in the mountains. It is not too stable in uneven terrain, but really it is not designed for that kind of work anyway it seems. Overall it has served me well, and I think someone looking for an inexpensive (virtually disposable) tripod would do well with this model. from Amazon.com I received this tripod as a gift.
