This combined with a Markins M-20 and some Markins plates, and your set for anything, anywhere, anytime. No center column, totally rigid design. Light as a feather, don't forget to get some lenscover coverings for your legs to keep the carbon fiber from getting fingerprints and/or scratched. I am 6 foot, with my ball head and the D3, and the 3530LS fully extended, it is WELL over my eye level. from Amazon.com This is a great tripod but if you are considering this mode, you should look at the GT3541XLS model instead because it is about the same folded length and weight, but gives you the option of extending a 4th leg section for a higher height!
