At First Glance One can easily mistake this tripod for the vaunted Slik Pro 500 DX, in fact, it could very well be one and the same design manufactured for two different companies. But unlike the Slik, This one comes with a Geared Center Column, and it is only 2" shorter at its maximum height, which makes it steadier given the fact that they both have the same tube diameter. from Amazon.com I have another tripod that is pretty good, by find myself grabbing the Sunpak 3300 first. If you read the editorial properly, it states that this tripod has "three leg sections, with integral quick release lock levers". That's quick release levers on the legs, not a quick release camera plate.

The Amazon editorial is 100% correct and this is a very nice tripod for the money.
