I have had my 300DX for ten years, and it is just as good today as it was the day I bought it. It is very well made and extremely durable, and while I agree with the other reviewer that the wing nuts do take more time to secure, I have never had a leg slip on this tripod. from Bhphotovideo.com I started looking for some in the 50 dollar range. But none of them seemed to have the quality i was looking for. This one was exactly what i needed and will be able to hold a good amount of weight from your camera and most telephoto lenses. The tripod overall is very solid and the center column has two ways of securing it (not sure if this is common) There have already been a couple times where the one screw in stop saved me from having my camera slam in to the column holder. from Amazon.com I found using it as a monopod is fun too, and even one leg supports my 6 lb system very solid. A couple months ago that one broke and i desperately needed a new one. from Amazon.com It has a solid metal head that is easy to adjust. Quick release lock is a big plus. Everything is great and it only cost half of Bogen tripod plus head. The flexible feature I was talk about is that you can easily extend angle of each leg in two stops. from Amazon.com
