What People Say
a great thing about the sunpaq line is that it performs well for amateurs like me who only uses it on rare occassions when a tripod is actually needed.

i love that it came with two quick release plates - it enabled us to use our camera or camcorder with the tripod.

if you are looking for an extra-sturdy tripod, this ain't it, but for cameras, and small camcorders , it will handle them easily.

i've had this tripod for a while now and i've used it numerous times indoors and outdoors .
from Amazon.com
i always hated having my slr being screwed onto a tripod that could tip over at any time from my being clumsy.
from Amazon.com
it's definitely usable for light outdoor use as well, but it's not very stable in even a light wind, and it can be a nuisance to adjust on unlevel surfaces.

same goes for the retractable leg-spikes (i don't shoot outdoors much).one caveat: it's not dead steady, just pretty darn steady.

sunpak 6601ut tripod with extra quick-release mounting plate i was looking for a light and easy to use tripod for nature photography with my digital camera.
from Amazon.com
it seems obvious to me but i'll say it anyway: this line is intended for the novice photographer or cinematographer.

one thing that is nice about it is that it comes with 2 detachable plates so you can have it ready for your camcorder or camera, or just keep the extra one in the safe.
