won't latch down if it's not plugged-in, a nice feature - if you're in a hurry, throw a couple slices in, push them down.

it seems to work quickly, has a way to keep very thin slices from falling over and getting scorched, etc.

the only draw back is the slots do not accomodate wide slices of bread....otherwise very happy with it!

my wife wished that the toast slot was a little longer because it only accepts standard size bread slices and she does a lot of bread baking, especially round loafs.
