the toaster arrived in a timely fashion.
as for the actual toasting, it did start out to toast unevenly, but the more toast you make, the more evenly it toasts, so give it time.
i hope this isn't an indication that the toaster will toast less and less well over time.
after the third oven burned out in a short time i decided to try a pop-up toaster.
little pricey i know, but it is worth it and i know it should last a long time.
in fact, this is the best toast i have had in a long time.
this one does a great job of toasting and the best thing is that it has a cancel button on its front, allowing you to stop toasting immediately, in case you over adjusted the time.

you could get to stay down sometimes, but even then it didn't seem to toast for the right amount of time given the setting.

ive done it twice and one time the toast landed on the counter and one time it landed back on top of the toaster.

the print that is browned on to the toast isn't very clear many times but it's still very fun!

the machine is large, & it does take a little longer to toast------however, common sense dictates......larger slots, bigger machine = longer toasting times.

i bought this toaster based on some statistics claiming best value for the money..what i found is that it toasts unevenly every time -very inconsistent.
sometimes it toasts only one side of the bread (when 2 slices are in it), and at other times it burns the toast at one end of the bread.
the only thing i don't like about this toaster is that it takes so long to toast a slice, and mostly i need to toast additional times if i want a particular darkness of color.
this is the first time i haven't covreed up my toaster when company comes.
maybe if you are buying the whole set at the same time you won't have this problem?
at that time the lever started acting up by not staying down.
but my toastmaster couldn't handle bagels, and the timer was broken so you had to make sure you didn't forget you were using it.
