(there is another darker colored toaster as well.) one of my concerns was being able to toast 1 piece of bread without making one side more toasted than the other.

my only qualms: mine does not head quite evenly, that is, one side is sometimes darker than the other, and it is rather large for a small kitchen counter.

if i set it on 2 i get a lightly toated piece of bread, so if you like it darker there's plenty of room to go up.
